Methodology

Clil Methodology

e-land English Academy applies a highly effective approach to teaching both face-to-face and online called CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning).

The term CLIL was created in 1994 by David Marsh to describe the linguistic stream which asserts that foreign language learning is most successfully achieved through the integration of common subjects. In other words, a methodology based on learning a foreign language through the teaching of common subjects such as Natural Sciences, Mathematics, History, among others.

CLIL learning requires the active application of the language in the study in order to become accustomed to speaking the language and to be prepared in the future to face everyday situations.

This methodology is a cognitive challenge for students, who develop their basic interpersonal communication skills and their competence in cognitive-academic language.

TECHNOLOGICAL RESOURCES

ONLINE CLASSES: our online classes are taught using the ZOOM educational platform through which academic digital books, documents, websites, audios and videos that are necessary to proceed with the dynamic and interactive teaching and practice of the classes are shared.

IN-PERSONAL CLASSES: in our in-person classes we use projectors, interactive digital screen (PDI), and virtual platforms so that both teachers and students can have immediate access to files, links, documents, digital books, audios and videos that are needed to proceed with the dynamic teaching and practice of the classes.

ACADEMIC MATERIAL
Both English and Spanish classes are taught with the most complete and academic books on the market today, with:
High and complete levels of vocabulary oriented to the traveller and everyday life.
Combined and integrated grammatical structures with different vocabulary to be applied in oral and written speech.
Detailed explanation of phonetics and pronunciation
Listening and speaking activities integrated into current topics
Readings of scientific and factual articles which combine the vocabulary and grammar seen in each unit.

GAMES
We use games as an essential resource for the development and application of the different knowledge acquired in class.

Both board games and digital games provide multiple benefits in the integral development of each student’s language.

Therefore, once the explanation of the different topics is finished, we choose to continue with an interactive practice through different games so that the student can apply the different concepts learnt in a dynamic and entertaining way.
